5 Months Old

Anna Scott turned 5 months old yesterday, October 10th.  Yes, she's FIVE months old and getting sweeter by the day!  As you may recall, she started rolling over at 4 months old.  For about two weeks, she would roll from her back to belly, only to be stuck and frustrated until we rolled her to her back again.  Now, she has no problem rolling over and over and over all by herself!  One of the sweetest parts of my day is walking into the nursery each morning to find her rolled onto her back and grinning from ear to ear.  I just look at her and think to myself, "What a wonderful world."  :)  I am so thankful that I am able to spend so much time with her this 4th year of school.  After I finish up my radiology rotation this week, I will be home until February (aside from traveling to residency interviews).  We are going to have lots of fun!  :) 

Anna Scott is such a happy baby.  She only fusses when she's tired or hungry (don't we all)!?  Otherwise, she is all smiles!  She is still sleeping through the night and loves her long afternoon nap.  She has started to drool and loves to clench her sweet gums on Sophie, a cold teething ring, or her fingers if that's all she can find.  Her first tooth has yet to shine, but it's only a matter of time.  She has found both feet, is using her hands more every day, and she is on the move, already dragging her belly to get to her toys.  I love how she rubs her eyes and turns her little neck to the right (always the right) when she is sleepy.  

Some of Anna Scott's favorite things are her bath time, Baby Einstein, her play gym, music and singing, being outside, stroller and car rides, our dog Hobie, Ellie the Elephant, Mollie the Monkey, Flutter the Flutterbug, Sophie the Giraffe (looks like a trip to the zoo is in our future), Wheel of Fortune, and last but not least, her WubbaNub.  So much for a "few" favorite things.  :)

Anna Scott had a very happy 5 month birthday.  She was spoon fed for the first time!  We will do a month of rice cereal and then start baby food at 6 months old.  Below are some pictures of her first spoon feeding.  You can also click here to watch a short video.  When her little bowl was empty, there was more cereal on her bib than in her tummy.  :) 

Rolling with the Tide

The Alabama Crimson Tide is on a roll and now 5-0 for the 2011 season!  

This year, we sold our season tickets, because with a new baby, there was NO WAY we would make many home games.  Wrong!  Thanks to Anna Scott's grandparents and some sweet friends of ours, we have managed to attend every home game thus far.  Patsy and Lavohn are some friends from church who have become very dear to us.  They have an awesome condo at the Houndstooth Condominiums in Tuscaloosa that has become our home away from home!  Anna Scott is able to travel down with us and stay in the condo, which has been a blessing.  I miss her too much during the games to ride there and back without her.

She has already made a good friend in Tuscaloosa.  This little sock monkey just loves her sweet hugs and kisses.

Patsy and Lavohn know how much we love Alabama Football, and last year (thanks to them), Scott and I were able to meet Coach Saban and his wife Terry.  I was 3 months pregnant at the time.  Anna Scott will get to meet Coach Saban very soon.  :)  Stay tuned for pictures!

Before the North Texas game, we had lunch at Mugshots.

Then, with the North Texas game in the books, it was time to get ready for Arkansas!  My family traveled down for this game, and we had a wonderful Saturday together.  

And finally, it was time to ROLL with the TIDE to Gainesville, Florida!

Scott's parents joined us on the trip to keep Anna Scott during the game.  A big "Thank You!" to them for all of their help.  It is always nice to have 4 extra hands!  :)  Despite being strapped in a car seat for hours, Anna Scott was such a good baby.  We had the best time on the road as we played and sang and slept...

 We arrived in Gainesville Friday evening, just in time to have dinner with Lavohn and Patsy at Harry's Seafood Bar and Grill.  We had a good night's rest and woke up to a beautiful Saturday, which started with a morning run and ended with a late night service station dinner (ha!) and drive back to our hotel.

We are so proud of the Crimson Tide and enjoyed cheering them to victory over the Florida Gators! Gainesville was a good place to end Scott's journey to attend an Alabama game in all 12 SEC stadiums.

    

Rolling with the Tide is lots of fun, but we are due a lazy Saturday.  This week, Alabama plays Vanderbilt for Homecoming.  We will be watching every down of the game, but our little tails are staying at home.  :)
