Happy Thanksgiving!

When I think of God's many blessings and all we have to be thankful for, one hymn always comes to mind.  I have been singing this chorus all day!
He is faithful.  I am thankful.

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

New York City Marathon

Victor was #9 on Alabama's football team.  Scott ran in honor and memory of those listed here.  These names actually crossed the finish line with Scott that day.  They were VICTORious!

Scott at 16.5 miles.
Scott at 24.2 miles.  Only 2 miles to go!
He needed a running partner at this point :)
So, of course I jumped in for a bit!
After crossing the FINISH line!  So proud of him!
My sister Allison and her boyfriend Alan made the trip with me.  I am so thankful -- I would have been lost without them!  Not to mention all of the fun we had!  Here, we are at John's Pizzeria after the race.
Central Park
The day before the big day.
Scott's friend Jason Spires ran the race as well.
They did a lot of the training together and traveled together...
but, they didn't finish together.  :)
Jason is a speedster and finished in the top 3,000 out of 45,000.  Wow!

Scott is taking a couple of weeks to rest and recover!
He will soon be posting on his blog (helphobierun.com)
to share more about the NYC marathon experience
and his upcoming run in the Mardi Gras Rock-n-Roll Half Marathon in February!

Help Hobie Run

Scott is in route to New York City.  I will be leaving in just a few hours.  While preparing for the marathon, Scott has kept his supporters informed and involved by posting a blog (website below).  Please take some time to read his blog this weekend.  It will be a great way to learn about his inspiration for running the marathon and also demonstrate that there is a greater purpose to this journey than just his finishing the race.  You will read the names of those who, in addition to Victor Ellis, Scott will be honoring on Sunday.  Lastly, you can learn how to follow Scott's progress in the marathon on Sunday morning (LIVE).  If you read his blog posts from beginning to end, you will be glad you did.

I want to be apart of it... New York, New York!  Here we come!
