William Stewart Laney: months seven to eleven...

Will turned 7 months old on January 12th.  Not much changed between 6 and 7 months, except that we did start trying some baby food.  His favorite were bananas.

William attended his first basketball game at 7 months old.  He watched his cousin Jalon win!

He was starting to learn to crawl at 7 months, but he wasn't moving too fast just yet.

Showing off those two bottom teeth.  :)

We started playing peek-a-boo at 7 months old.
Will started to really love playing with his toys as well.

Trains and blocks and balls...

Oh, and cars.  Don't forget the cars.  Those are his favorite.

Do all babies find their feet around this time?  I think so.  Do all babies try to eat their feet?  Not so sure about that.  Haha. This baby will put anything in his mouth.  Anything.

William turned 8 months old on February 12th.  At 8 months old, he cut both of his top middle front teeth (central incisors) and started pulling up to stand.  At 8 1/2 months, he cut his bottom left lateral incisor.  He also started to clap his hands at this age.  He started to crawl at 8 months 10 days old.

William celebrated his first Valentine's Day at 8 months old.

This included his first sucker experience.  :)

Will has always loved bath time.

His absolute favorite thing to do is stroll.

At 9 months old, William started to wave "bye bye." We continued to enjoy peek-a-boo.  At 9 1/2 months, he started to walk while pushing his walker.  This became one of his favorite things to do around the house, but oh the frustration when he ran into a wall or couldn't turn a corner.  Made him fighting mad.  :)  At 9 1/2 months, his bottom right lateral incisor.  He started trying to dance to music at this age.  His first sound were "Ba" (ball), "Dada," "bye bye," and "dis" (this).  My favorite is "dis" because he says it while pointing to wherever he wants you to turn your attention.

At his 9 month appointment, William weighed 19.3 pounds and was 28 inches long.

Perfectly healthy!

William's first Easter was at 9 months old.  He was more interested in eating the eggs than hiding them.  ;)

First visit from the Easter Bunny

He loved the Easter Bunny!

At 10 months old, Will started to say "mama."  Well, 10 months 9 days, to be exact.  He cut his top right and top left lateral incisors.  He started raising his hand to give us high fives when we would ask for them.  He started to make a car sound... "vrrm vrrm" while playing with his car toys.  He also started trying to "throw" a ball.

One evening, I lost him for a few seconds.  This is how I found him.  Just in time.  :)

William had 8 teeth by 11 months old (if you've counted along the way).  Those sweet little teeth make for a precious smile.  At 11 months and 20 days old (on June 1st), William took his first four steps.  He didn't take them to Scott or me.  He walked to Anna Scott.  She was thrilled that his first steps were to her.  William began to transition from bottle to sippy cup at 11 months old (but he wasn't too happy about it).

As you can see, bath time became more and more fun.  First bubble bath...

William loves to be outside.  He loves waving at the cars as they pass by.  Most of the time, someone waves back at him, and he grins the biggest grin.

A little more about William:  He  loves bath time, water in general, strolling, the outdoors, his toy cars and trains, music, balls, books (his favorite is God Knows All About Me), peek-a-boo, and Mickey Mouse Club House.   He loves to point his little finger at anything and everything.
His favorite person is his sister (and Mommy is a close second).  :)  He is so excitable and so lovable!  He is a good sleeper (once we get him to sleep).  Sleeps through the night with rare exception.  He can fall asleep anywhere, much like his sister.  His favorite table foods are yogurt, grapes, pizza and any kind of noodles (especially spaghetti).  I think its funny when he shakes his head "no" to food when he is finished or just has no interest in what we are offering.  He lets us know he does NOT want any more bites.  Another way he has shown me he is finished is by throwing his bites off of his high chair, one at a time.  I like the shaking head "no" method better.  :)  He is not a huge fan of getting into his car seat, but once we are on the road, he doesn't seem to mind.  All we have to do to make him happy in the car is turn on a little music.

William is always happy.  Furthermore, he is happy with anyone.  He loves to be held.  He loves the people who keep him during the week while Mommy and Daddy are working (my mom, scott's mom, Taylor, and Mary Katherine).  He is such good and sweet baby.  He has stolen all of our hearts, and we fall a little more in love with him each day!

At 11 months old, if you asked him how old he was, he would hold up one finger (practice for turning one year old).  He turned one year old on June 12th and celebrated with family that day at our home.
