Anna Scott turns FOUR!!!

Anna Scott turned FOUR in May.  She wanted a Little Mermaid/Under the Sea party.  She loves to swim, so I combined her love of swimming with an "under the sea" feel to create a sweet little party for her.  Her one request was that Ariel be in attendance.  Here are some pictures from her party.  I thought it turned out perfectly.

I had been on call overnight the evening before.  That and being 8 months pregnant just about had me beat.   But, I put on a big smile for her and we had a fun day!

All of the children were crazy about Ariel.  I think they asked her a million questions.  All good questions too.  Like, where were Flounder and Sebastian?  Where were her dad and sisters?  Anna Scott did tell me before the party that the only person who was not invited was Ursula.  :)

Not only did Ariel come to Anna Scott's party, but she sat beside her and sang "Part of that World" to music.  It was so precious.  Anna Scott was in Heaven on Earth (well, under the sea).  She joined Ariel in singing!

Ariel led everyone to sing the birthday song to our little mermaid as well.

After the party, Anna Scott and her friends shared a fun afternoon at the Homewood Central Pool.  This has been a favorite spot of Anna Scott's over the past two summers.  She is a little fish mermaid.

Caroline enjoyed napping in the warm breeze next to her soon to be baby cousin.

Anna Scott's birthday is May 10th, but we had her party on May 30th, because we had to wait until the pool opened.  However, we did celebrate on her actual birthday, of course.

Anna Scott took these cupcake pops to school so that all of her school friends could enjoy a sweet treat to celebrate her birthday.

Her school party was on a Friday, May 9th (the day before her actual birthday).  When she got home from school that day, the birthday fairy had left a surprise in her bedroom.

We started a few birthday traditions when Anna Scott turned one year old.  The night before Anna Scott was born, Scott and I went to California Pizza Kitchen for dinner, not knowing she would make her arrival the next day.  So, we have dinner there on her birthday eve each year.

Another tradition:  A balloon on the mailbox.  You can't turn a year older without everyone who drives by your house knowing it's your birthday!

Another tradition:  birthday pancakes...

I can't believe I have a four year old.  Here are pictures of my sweet girl on each of her birthdays:  one, two, three and four.

I have loved all of her birthdays.  Her first party was a big one and all about the number one.  Her second was a party in the park (like Sally on Wee Sing together).  She celebrated her third birthday with a "3" Ring Circus party, and has now celebrated her fourth with Ariel, under the sea.  What's next?  Well, that's for Anna Scott to decide.  Right now, she wants a princess party and "all of the princesses in the whole world" to be in attendance.  I think I have my work cut out for me.

We celebrated Anna Scott's birthday with family at my grandmother's house one Sunday afternoon.

Anna Scott got lots of fun toys!  Among her favorites were Peppa and family...

her first tennis racquet,

her first bicycle,

her very own camera,

a real microphone and karaoke machine,

and a scooter!

Anna Scott had her four week check up with Dr. McCain the week after her birthday.  Daddy came along and made those shots a little more bearable.

Anna Scott weighed 39 pounds (60th percentile for weight) and measured 40 1/2 inches tall (75th percentile for height).  She checked out as a healthy, happy girl, for which we are so thankful!

Next, it was time to visit the dentist.  Anna Scott was such a big girl.

Dr. Keller said her parents have she has been doing a great job of brushing her teeth!  :)

Do you think she's proud of being four years old?  She can't wait to hold up those fingers when someone asks about her age.  Mommy wishes she would put a couple of those fingers down, or at least keep that thumb from popping up!

They say time flies when you're having fun.  Well, it must.  Every day is so much fun with this little girl.  She puts a smile on everyone's face.

Anna Scott, you are smart, beautiful, and bubbling over with personality, but what I love most about you is your sweet, sensitive spirit and your tender heart.  I love you BIG (a little bigger with each passing year).
