Anna Scott is 2!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNA SCOTT
(who really doesn't want to grow up...)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!!

Anna Scott had an awesome 2nd birthday.  We started celebrating on the day before her birthday with a party at school.  She sat at the head of the table, all of her friends wore their hats, everyone had a cupcake, and all the world was right.  I even led them in a chorus of the birthday song, not once but twice during the party!  Anna Scott was sitting on top of the world.  :)

Here is the giant birthday card Anna Scott's class made for her.  So sweet and the art work is superb.

On Thursday evening, we had dinner at California Pizza Kitchen (refer to my last post to learn about this tradition).  Here are a couple of pictures of Anna Scott on the eve of her birthday, just before leaving for dinner.

and one of Anna Scott with Daddy at CPK the night before her birthday last year.  Boy has she grown!

One thing to note...  Anna Scott fell running around outside after dinner and actually needed a band aid for the very first time, because her right knee was bleeding.  After covering her boo boo with a Hello Kitty band aid, her tears rolled away and she was all better.

Anna Scott awoke to balloons, balloons, and more balloons on the morning of her birthday.

Our pancakes were 2 cute!  :)

Anna Scott went crazy over these mailbox balloons.  She loved them!

Granmama and Grandaddy came to share in our celebration!  In the next picture, I had just asked Anna Scott how old she is.  She says "2 in May" and holds up all fingers.  Oh me.  I am glad she doesn't look 10.  Would be very confusing.  :)

One special gift Anna Scott received on her birthday was her first tricycle from Granmama and Grandaddy.

They also got her a Hello Kitty horn for her car.  Now she can at least let people know she is coming!

Another special gift was this doll furniture that used to be mine and Allison's.  Scott's mom refinished the furniture and gave it a little facelift (new cushions and all).  Anna Scott has really enjoyed using the furniture for her babies.  It is so sweet to watch her pretend to care for them.

She cares for them in more ways than one.  She is not just their Mommy, but she is their little doctor too.  Below, she is preparing to give her babies a shot.  She tells them, "It be ok, babies.  I give you a shot."  I could sit and watch her play for hours.  Just too sweet.

One of the best things about Anna Scott's birthday weekend was that the rain held off on Friday (her birthday) and Saturday (her party day).  I bet she and I sang, "Rain, rain, go away, come again another day... " about 1000 times that week.  Well, it worked...

and little Anna Scott got to play!

Aunt Allison came to party with us!  Anna Scott was so excited!

There could not be a better aunt in this world.  Aunt Allison is amazing!

We were happy that Uncle Alan and Emme could join her.  I just love this picture of them.

Aunt Allison made these delicious cupcakes for Anna Scott's special day.

So, we sang the birthday song once again...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

(who is doesn't mind growing up if it means more cupcakes...)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!!

Pictures of Anna Scott's 2nd birthday party and 2 year check up are coming soon!  Until then, I will leave you with this keepsake.  Before Anna Scott was born, my dad put together these birth announcements for him and Mom to share the news of Anna Scott's birth with family and friends.  Leave it to Dad to come up with something like this.  :)  Thought it would be the perfect way to end this birthday post.

Your Journey to TWO

Dear Anna Scott,

Here is a little recap of your journey to two years old.  What a wonderful journey it has been...

Just two years ago, I waited anxiously for you to arrive.  Here I am at your baby shower (36 weeks pregnant).  I could hardly wait to meet you!

I ironed your sweet dresses.  These are two that Aunt Allison smocked for you.

I packed your little bags.

Your sweet Daddy left a surprise for me in your nursery on Mother's day, May 8, 2011.  Little did I know that just two days later, you would arrive.

This is the first time I held you in my arms.  It was the best moment of my life.

This is the first time you touched Daddy's hand.

The nurse gave you a sponge bath when you were only a few hours old.  I don't think you liked it too much.  :)

Here you are at one day old.  You were so alert.  My little bundle of joy.

We got to go home after two days in the hospital.

I loved your coming home dress.  It looks so small framed in your nursery now, but it swallowed you whole at two days old.

Here you are at one week old.

2 months old

3 months old

5 months old

We dedicated you to the Lord on October 16, 2011.  You were 5 months old.  Your grandmothers bought your Christening gown before you were even born.  It was so beautiful on you that day.

Here you are at 6 months old.  You started to grow so quickly at this point.

Your first time in Santa's lap at 7 months old.

Here are a couple at 8 months old.  These are two of my favorite pictures.

Your first ski trip was at 8 months old.  You turned out to be quite the snow baby.

I had your "baby parts" photographed at 9 months old and Granmama framed them for your 1st birthday.  I am in love with these pictures.

I love this sweet black and white of you.  9 months old.

You were my little baby doll.  9 months old.

Your first visit with the Easter Bunny went very well.  Perhaps it is because you took him a carrot!

This is you on your first Easter Sunday.  11 months old.  I loved your sweet necklace and bracelet.

Your daddy and I had dinner at California Pizza Kitchen the night before you were born.  We had no idea that the next day would be your birthday.  So, one year later, on the night before your first birthday, we decided to make it a tradition.  Here you are at California Pizza Kitchen the night before your 1st birthday.  Guess where we will be eating tomorrow night?  :)

Here you are on the day of your first birthday, party dress and all.

You had a blueberry pancake breakfast that morning.

We also visited the Birmingham Zoo that day.

Here are some of your 1st birthday pictures...

Your first birthday party was a dream come true.  It was such a special day!

Here you are after your 1 year doctor check up.  You loved showing off your stats!

We had a fun summer at the beach last year.  You were so cute in your swimsuits!

You and I dressed alike for our football kick-off party.  So much fun.

You were 15 months old.

I thought you were a doll in your little hat during the fall/winter.

17 months old

You dressed as a little lamb for your second Halloween.

You met Coach Saban at 18 months old!  He loved you and wanted to hold you, but you wouldn't let him.  You will regret that one day.  :)  Maybe you will get another chance.

You weren't too fond of Santa the second time around.  18 months old.

This is the picture we used for our Christmas card last year.

You loved decorating your nursery tree for Christmas.  19 months old.

You started to really look like a little girl at 21 months old.

At 22 months old, you were ready for your second spring.

This is you playing at the park (one of your favorite places) at 23 months old.

Here is one of my favorites at 23 months old.  My precious girl.

Last but not least, here are a few I have taken this week, just before your 2nd birthday...

Happy 2nd Birthday Anna Scott Laney.  I love you so much.
