I've Got Friends in Fun Places......

(watch out Garth Brooks)

Blame it all on my fears
I showed up in tears
And ruined my play time again

The last one to know
The last one to show
I was the last one
You thought you'd see grin

Then I felt the surprise
and happiness in my eyes
When I found a friend and we played

And that's when I sung
Said, mommy, I may be young
But I think that I've got it made

'Cause I've got friends in fun places
Where the laughter drowns
And each smile chases my blues away
And I'll be okay

Now, I'm not big on adult places
but I love spending time with sweet baby faces

Oh, I've got friends in fun places

As you have just heard in Anna Scott's song, she has "friends in fun places" :) and she has gotten to spend lots of time with them over the past few weeks.  I wish I had pictures from all of her play dates and dinner dates, but here are the ones I managed to get pictures of...

Indoor play date with McNeill

Dinner and ice cream date with Bentley (he made her this heart)

Wedding date with Cooper (and their grandfathers)

Owen's 1st birthday party

Swim date with McNeill

Park play date

Griffin's 2nd birthday party

More fun with Owen (his Mommy keeps Anna Scott everyday)

Looks like fun to me!

BEACH BUMS

On Monday, June 4th, we left for Destin, Florida to be beach bums for a week.  Anna Scott rode to the beach in her big girl car seat.  She loved facing forward and the view that came along with it.  I loved riding in the front seat with Scott for the entire trip!  :)

This was not a good start to the picture taking, but too cute not to share.

Our home for the week was located in Destiny, a community in Destin.  It was such a beautiful place to spend our beach vacation.

These sweet gifts were waiting for us on our beds.  So sweet!

Including this sweet gift...  :)

Anna Scott was more than ready for her first day at the pool.

She is definitely a water baby.

On our first night, dinner was at McGuire's Irish Pub.  We didn't eat a dinner that was not absolutely delicious, but this was my favorite.  Anna Scott loved coloring before dinner.  She especially liked it when I would write her name while saying each letter aloud.  She would smile and look at everyone at the table to make sure they were watching.

Day 2:  pool day...

Yes, she fell asleep in the pool.

Have you ever seen a sweeter face?

The second night, we had dinner at Red Bar in Grayton Beach.  Awesome atmosphere and wonderful food.

Day three:  the BEACH...

Scott's mom made the precious crab hair bow.  :)

I took the next few pictures after dinner at The Back Porch on our third night.

Day 4:  shopping and pool...

Anna Scott loved the water fountain at the outlets.

Dinner our 4th night was at Grafitti in the Village at Baytowne Wharf.

Day 5:  pool again (she really loved the pool)

On our 5th night, we stayed inside and devoured some peel and eat shrimp and pizza.

I hate that I have to end this happy blog post on such a sad note, but it is what it is.  We thought there would be a day 6.  We were going to enjoy the beach and pool one more full day, do dinner (and family beach pictures) that night, and head home after dinner.  No such luck.  We awoke to a rainy day and decided to head back to Birmingham.  :(

Destin, we will be back again soon...
