Unusual title, huh?! Well, this is really a merry post. You will understand the scary part later (if you make it that far.) Here was our little family on Christmas Day 2012.
To pick up where my last post ended... Our next family Christmas was with my Mom's family on Christmas Eve. I love this picture of the Stewarts, Laneys, and Ceases before going to Grandmother's house.
The Grand and Great Grandchildren. You will notice a trend that Anna Scott has started to smile in posed pictures. All we have to say is, "Show me your pretty teeth." :)
We had a delicious Christmas Eve dinner.
Anna Scott had lots of gifts to open, but she decided she would rather color.
She got a basketball goal from the Whitt family. Grandaddy showed her how to shoot the ball. She likes to pass the ball to someone, tell them to "shoop," then if they make it, she holds up two fingers and says, "2 points!" :) This little girl loves music, loves to color and read, and she LOVES ball. Who knew we would be more excited about our basketball goal than our baby dolls?! Just wait until she gets a tennis racquet!
Here are a few of her sweet gifts. The first is a little step stool for her bathroom in our new house.
We are going to Disney World in 10 days, and Anna Scott is ready to meet Mickey and Minnie!
I love this little snack and sippy cup set from Aunt Allison.
Anna Scott wasn't the only one who got to open presents...
Last year, I started a tradition: Anna Scott gives everyone in my family and Scott's family a calendar for the new year complete with pictures of her from the previous year. Can you tell this gift is a favorite? :)
I love my silly girl.
On the night before Christmas, we left Santa some milk and cookies.
Then, sometime during the night, Santa came down the chimney to deliver lots of toys for Anna Scott.
This was her reaction when she saw her toys on Christmas morning. Precious.
Her stocking was full of Hello Kitty!
Ok, listen up! This is where the scary part comes in. Anna Scott attended several birthday parties during the summer and had a fit over the bounce houses. She bounced until she couldn't bounce anymore. Literally, she was the LAST kid out of the bounce house. So, Santa thought that a bounce house would be the perfect gift for Anna Scott this year. Yes, her own bounce house! What could be better!? Well, Anna Scott is scared of the bounce house and has yet to bounce the first bounce. I think it is a combination of the blower noise, the size, and the fact that no other kids are bouncing.
She talks about the bounce house a lot, but she does not want to bounce. She just wants to talk about it. :) This is the conversation that we have had multiple times since Christmas morning. Anna Scott says, "Bounce house!" I say, "Yes, Santa brought you a bounce house! Do you want to bounce?" She says, "No." I say, "Why don't you want to bounce?" She says, "I scared." (as she scrunches up her face and squints her eyes) I say, "Why are you scared?" She says, "Big and loud." We say this over and over and over, but we aren't really getting anywhere. So, she and the bounce house have a love-hate relationship. We did get her to slide one time. One time was all. :) Oh well, we will keep trying.
Aunt Allison and Uncle Alan got to stay to watch Anna Scott see her gifts from Santa on Christmas morning and then traveled to Shoal Creek to spend Christmas Day with the Ceases. I just have to share the picture below because it is so precious! These are the Cease family dogs with little Emme in the middle.
On Christmas Day, we had dinner and gifts with Scott's family at his Nana's house.
Later that evening, we opened gifts with Scott's parents. Scott's mom painted this table and chair set for Anna Scott. She did such a wonderful job. It is so so sweet!
Anna Scott loves numbers and letters. She sings her ABCs (she is good at filling in the blanks!) and she can almost count to 10. She skips 5 and 8. :)
Since Christmas Day, we have been playing with all of our new toys...
Last but not least, we had lunch with my friend Anna and her sweet baby Lucy last week. They are currently living in Oklahoma, so we miss them so much and love seeing them when they are home. This was the best we could do for a picture of the four of us. Lucy will be one year old in February, and we can't wait to celebrate with her!
After lunch, Anna Scott had ice cream for dessert. She was one happy girl.
Happy Happy New Year!!!
