Three Months, Four Months, Five Months!

Will's first two months have already been blogged about, and now it's time to catch up, as he is already almost 6 months old!

Here's our sweet baby at 1 and 2 months old.

During Will's third month of life (at two months old), he became more and more lovable every day.  He started to smile a lot more.  He laughed out loud for the first time at 2 months, 18 days old.  True laughter.

Words can't describe how precious and sweet this baby is.  He is a dream come true, as far as good babies are concerned.  I say that, and it makes it sound like Anna Scott was awful.  She was not.  She was a good baby herself, but she was a normal kind of good.  Will is good in a way that is not normal.  Ha!  I often ask him, "Are you real?"  :)

I took this picture while out for a stroll on one of my Wednesdays with Will.  I am currently a third year radiology resident, and we take call on Tuesdays.  So, all of my post-call days have fallen on Wednesdays since Will was born.  Anna Scott is in pre-school, so it is just me and Will those days.  Wednesdays with Will.  Those are precious days.

Will was dedicated to the Lord at 2 months old.  These pictures was taken on his Christening day after we changed out of our Christening gown into more "comfortable" attire.

Will loves bath time.  He always has.  I have to take a picture of him during his bath every now and then so that I can remember that sweet belly and the progression of those fat rolls.  Of course, this was taken at 2 months old, so these are tiny fat rolls.

More pictures during his third month...
Two and a half months old...

At three months old, Will started to smile more (smiles all of the time) and laugh more too.  He laughs most at his big sister.  He adores her already, really.  (Though I know this will change)

When she is in the room, she has his undivided attention, and he can't stop smiling.  He started to roll over at three months - a few times here and there.

Another month, another stroll on a beautiful Wednesday with Will.

Will really started to "play" at three months old.  He grew to love his play-mat more and more, reaching for all of the different objects and appreciating different textures.  It was fun to watch.

Will started to get out of the "tiny baby" stage at four months and seemed to be growing into a bigger baby who was more independent, stronger, and developing a personality all his own.

At Will's four month appointment, he weighed 14 pounds, 11.5 ounces and was 24 inches long.

I love these pictures below, because he heard my voice, was looking back (top pic), and found me (bottom pic).  That sweet smile.  :)

I grow to love this face a little more every day.

It was cool a few days in October, and I tried to keep his little head covered, but you can see what he thought of that.

More pictures at 4 months old...

He became quite the roly poly during this month (and still is).  Rolling takes him wherever he needs to go!

One of the most precious things about 4 months to me is finding feet.  Both of my babies discovered their feet at 4 months old.  It's so sweet when those feet are uncovered and he occupies himself for 30 minutes by playing with his toes.

I think he had spotted something he wanted.  In times like these, it would be nice to be able to roll forward.  :)

Will was introduced to the bumbo at four months old.  Too bad it is pink.  Poor little guy.

This way, he could sit with big sister and watch cartoons, without her having to hold him up.  I am not sure if I have written about this in the past posts, but while Anna Scott is a great help, she lets you know when she thinks she's done enough.  She will hold him for a few minutes, grab one diaper, pick up the paci a few times, but she wants you to know she's working - doesn't want her work to go unnoticed.  ;)  One evening, we had a friend over for dinner.  She and my friend were sitting in the den talking/playing and I walked to the kitchen.  When I left the room, I heard Anna Scott tell my friend, "I do ALL the work around here."  Oh my.  I wish.  So funny.

At 5 months old, Will is laughing more, becoming more playful, getting into what he can by rolling around on the floor,  bouncing up a storm, and getting sweeter by the minute.

All this baby wants for Christmas are some balls, trucks, trains, and - at the very least - some BLUE toys!

He's working hard on those fat rolls.  They are coming along nicely.

I guess our biggest news from this month is that Will cut his first tooth!  (5 months, 6 days)  Actually, now, he has two! (Second at 5 months 16 days) Poor little buddy.  5 months is so early to be cutting teeth, but Anna Scott was 5 months as well.  Guess it runs in the family.  :)  He has been a trooper though.  If we couldn't feel them (and now see them), we wouldn't even know.

I took some sweet pictures of Anna Scott "reading" to Will one night before bed.  I guess she feels like he should be doing a bible study too.

Sleeping in heavenly peace.  This baby wants to be held when he is sleeping  :)

Will wore his sweater and boggan for the first time one day in late-november when we took Anna Scott out for a quick stroll on her bicycle.

The next picture reminds me... Will has a new trick.  He puts his little tongue out and makes a spitting noise.  He does it randomly and then smiles like he has just invented the latest greatest thing.  The best is when we do it in front of him and he does it right back.  :)  Spitting sounds may not be the best first trick to teach your baby, but when you are 5 months old, anything is cute!

William Stewart Laney, you are a blessing; a pure joy!  It is so much fun watching you grow.
May you always remain just as sweet and precious as you are today.
Mommies of boys, is that possible?  ;)

I am looking forward to your first Christmas.  You are the most precious gift we have received this year.  I thank God for sending you to be ours.

I can't believe that it's almost been 6 months since I held this baby in my arms for the first time.  Sadly, the time to hold these babies in our arms goes by way too fast.  Something about having a four year old will teach you that.  So, I will make the most of each moment; cherish the here and now.  For, I know life can't get much better, much sweeter, much more heart-warming than it is today.
