Father's Day

This Father's Day was a first for a few good men.  Scott is a brand new father and our fathers are brand new grandfathers!  Anna Scott is blessed to have such wonderful men in her little life.  Here is a picture of the four of them after our Father's Day dinner.

I thought it would be neat to start a tradition where each year, Scott will get a painted canvas representing that Father's Day in some way.  This year, Anna Scott was a little too young to paint her own canvas, so I helped and we used her little footprints as her contribution to the artwork.  :)  You can tell the footprints are real because she keeps those toes on her right foot curled, hence the difference in the right and left!  I thought the first canvas turned out to be a sweet symbol of the beginning of Scott's journey as a father.  Next year, Anna Scott will be able to paint a canvas all by herself (maybe with a little help).  And hopefully, years from now, Scott will have one canvas representing each Father's Day, year by year.  They will be great for displaying in his office one day or we could hang them in a fun room at home.  Either way, these will be a wonderful keepsake!  Here is the first canvas...

We also framed some pictures for Scott's office at the bank.

Happy Father's Day to the best husband and daddy in the whole wide world!
We love you,

I know this Father's Day post is a little past due, but we have been preoccupied with a few other things...  After church on Father's Day, we headed to the beach with my family.  We returned home from our vacation on Friday afternoon, only to unpack, repack and leave for Lake Martin for a BIG surprise!  My sister Allison was engaged to my friend (and now future brother-in-law!) Alan on Friday night - June 24, 2011.  We spent Friday night and all day Saturday celebrating on Lake Martin!  I am so excited for my sweet sister.  She is the happiest girl in the world!  Now, we are home and getting settled back into our routine.  Anna Scott has had an exciting week, and Scott and I have learned that traveling with a baby is hard work - but, worth it all the while.  I will be posting pictures of our beach trip and the engagement soon.  Stay tuned!
