I apologize in advance for the extra long post, but you only turn 6 months old once! :) We had lots of fun celebrating Anna Scott's half birthday (November 10th). She has grown so much (in every way) since my 5 month post! This is the biggest month to month change yet. She is sitting up all by herself but not crawling yet. She seems content with the fact that she can roll anywhere she wants to go.
Her little hands are busy all of the time. She loves to feel different textures and switch objects from one hand to the other. I hope Sophie the Giraffe doesn't suffer from motion sickness. :) I have a 10 minute video of her sitting in her bumbo, taking Sophie in one hand, lifting her behind her head, bringing her back down, transfering her to the other hand, and lifting her behind her head on that side, only to start the same process again... over and over. It really is the funniest thing. We laugh a lot at our house!
Anna Scott loves to babble, so we carry on some serious conversations. Also, she got to start eating baby food at 6 months, so she is enjoying 2 servings a day of fruits and veggies. Yum! She still has only two bottom teeth, but I think the third may be on its way. We have started cleaning her teeth each night before bed. It feels so good on her gums, bless her heart. And last but not least, my barefoot baby wore her first pair of shoes this week. Since turning 5 months old, she has discovered two new accessories: hair bows and shoes :) So, that's what she's been up to. I still can't get enough of her. :)
Some of Anna Scott's favorite things at 6 months are: her jumper (she can really show out), her play mat, our dog Hobie, music and singing (she loves the song "Jesus Loves Me"), being outside, riding in the car and stroller, "patty cake" and "this little piggy went to market," bath time (there is nowhere she would rather be), Sophie, Mollie, Flutterbug, and her Baby Einstein videos.
Anna Scott's newest friend is our Elf on the Shelf, Leon (Noel spelled backwards). Clever huh?! :) He will be our guest during the Christmas season and report back to the North Pole each night to fill Santa in on our behavior. Here is a picture of Leon spying from our kitchen wreath. He will reappear in a different location each time he returns from the North Pole.
Anna Scott spent her 6 month birthday in Mobile while I interviewed for residency there. She was Daddy's date for the day, and they had so much fun! I took this picture on our way home from Mobile. She still loves her WubbaNub. He hasn't missed a trip! I can just hear him singing, "I've been everywhere, man. I've been everywhere!" :)
After we got home from Mobile, we heard a knock on our door. It was Aunt Allison with a 6 month happy: a Minnie Mouse balloon and bumble bee cake!
Anna Scott had the best time with this balloon. It was her entertainment for the weekend.
She waved the balloon from side to side as if she was going to fly up up and away.
Luckily, she stayed put. :)
On Saturday, we watched lots of football then drove to the Huntsville airport to surprise my Dad, who was returning home from a medical mission trip to Guatemala.
Dad had no idea we would be there to pick him up, but when he entered the baggage claim, he saw Mom, Allison, Alan, Scott, myself, and Anna Scott holding the signs below. You couldn't have wiped the smile off his face!
Here is Anna Scott with her letter. :)
On our way home, we enjoyed hearing all about Dad's trip, and Anna Scott played with her gift from the Guatemalan market.
After church on Sunday, we celebrated Anna Scott's half-birthday at GG's (my grandmother's) house. Turning 6 months old is a big deal, and we treated it as such! 6 balloons, a special "6 months" bib, and a cupcake helped to make this party a success.
Happy 6 month birthday Anna Scott!
I am so thankful for you.
And I still can't believe you're mine.
Love,
Mommy
