7 Months at Christmastime

Anna Scott turned 7 months old on the 10th of December.  I know I say this every month, but what a fun age!  Every day is a new adventure!  The newest sound around our house is da-da-da.  It's so funny - I will look at her and say "ma-ma" and she will reply, "da-da" without missing a beat.  :)  Now that she is saying da-da, we are trying to teach her who da-da is, but she has not quite mastered that concept.  She smiles real big and says da-da to any and everything, and we just smile and nod.  :) Anna Scott is very vocal.  She is happy all of the time, but sooooo very happy upon waking in the mornings.  I will peek in her crib to find her smiling and babbling up a storm.  She also squeals and makes the funniest face when something excites her.

I love that she is getting more and more interactive and developing a sweet little personality.  She is so very observant, just like her dad (doesn't miss a thing!)  Her smile melts my heart and her laugh makes my day.

Some of Anna Scott's favorite things at 7 months old are:  bath time (probably her favorite), Christmas songs and movies, her Childcraft books, holding her bottle all by herself, any and every toy/stuffed friend, rice cereal and fruit, Santa Claus :), Sophie, jumping in her jumper, looking in her mirror, Christmas lights, Hobie, still the Wubbanub (but only when going to sleep), riding in the car/stroller, and teething toys.

She also loves Leon, her Elf on the Shelf.  He is so funny!  A few nights ago, I had everything ready to take Anna Scott's 7 month photo the next morning, and Leon decided he would sit right in the middle when he got back from the North Pole.  :)

I will say, he was a little easier to photograph than little Miss Priss.  Once she found the "7 months" sign,  there was no more looking at the camera.

We are so excited about Anna Scott's first Christmas!  Here are some pictures of her nursery tree...

And others I have taken over the past couple of weeks...

One of our favorite events during the Christmas Season is the Arab First Baptist Church Singing Christmas Tree. My dad is the director, and Scott and I have been a part of the program each year.  "Imagine" was the title of this year's production.  Anna Scott made it to 3 out of 4 performances.  She loved all of the lights, music and singing!  Anna Scott's friend Sophie the Giraffe was actually in one of the drama scenes.  She played... well, a squeaky toy!  Who would have guessed!?  Maybe Anna Scott will mature into the great actress Sophie is one day.  :)  Here is a picture of the beautiful Singing Christmas Tree.

Anna Scott just traveled to Memphis with us for one of my residency interviews.  She doesn't get to go on all of them, so I am always excited when she tags along.  We stayed with our good friends Holli, Nick and Griffin (18 months old).  Anna Scott loved getting to see her sweet friend G and play with his toys.  :)  We can't wait to see them again at Christmas.  It was such a fun visit and we are thankful to Holli and Nick for letting us stay in their home.

That is all for now, but there is more Christmas to come!
