Granny's 90th Birthday

My precious great-grandmother, known as "Granny" by everyone in our family, is 90 years old today, April 6th.  Granny is a special lady.  She has 5 children, many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild (Anna Scott).  She is the oldest of 5 generations - all firstborn females.  As the cornerstone and foundation of our family, she has set the perfect example for us to follow.  Granny is nothing short of amazing, and she deserves to be celebrated.

Sunday, April 1st, Granny's 5 children and their families (42 of us) gathered in the pews of her church for the morning worship service.  Granny had no idea that we were going to be there, and nothing could have made her happier than her whole family being in church together.  I captured her face the moment her eyes met ours.

Surprise!

The beautiful sanctuary flowers...

After the service, we had a birthday celebration dinner.  It was so wonderful to have our whole family in one place at one time.

Each family member wrote their favorite memory with/of Granny to hang on this memory tree.  I know Granny had a wonderful time reading these!  We have created so many memories...

Toward the end of our dinner, Granny thanked everyone for making her day so special and said she hoped all of us would live to be 90 years old.  :)
