Thanksgiving Weekend and a little bit of Christmas

Hang on folks.... this is going to be a long one!  Here is a recap of our Thanksgiving weekend.  I mentioned in my post last week that I took some 18 month pictures of Anna Scott.  This was the first thing on my agenda once the Thanksgiving holiday was underway.  I shared most of them in the other post, but here are a few more (including some in her little Christmas dress and gown)...

On Thanksgiving Eve, we took Anna Scott to meet and get her picture made with Coach Saban.  He and Terry tried to hold her, but she would have nothing to do with them (she is definitely at that stage).  I told her that she would regret that one day.  :)  I am just thankful she was a good sport and did agree to have her picture made (as long as Mommy was in the picture too).

On Thanksgiving Day, we celebrated with Scott's family at lunch and my family at dinner.

Dad's parents came down from Tennessee to spend the evening with us.

Granny joined us too.  So thankful for her.  I love this precious picture of the first and last of 5 generations of girls.

One highlight of our Thanksgiving was getting to meet Uncle Alan and Aunt Allison's puppy Emme.  Allison gave Emme to Alan as an early Christmas gift.  She is soooo cute!
Anna Scott was sooooooo thankful for Emme.  She loved her just like I knew she would.  She said "Emme" a million times that night.

That night, we went to bed with full hearts and full tummies.

The next day, Anna Scott got to open an early Christmas gift from Granmom and Grandad (my dad's parents).  Yay!

Friday evening, the whole family was together at home, and we decorated my parents' house for Christmas.

On Sunday morning, Anna Scott wore her pretty pink coat to church.  I bought it for her last Christmas and couldn't wait for her to be able to wear it this year.  I did have to turn up the sleeves (they are still a little long), but hopefully that means she can wear it again next year!  :)

After such a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving weekend, I did not look forward to coming home to a house that needed to be cleaned and decorated for the Holidays.  But, my little helper and I were able to get the job done.  Now, the Laney household is sparkly and shiny.  It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Anna Scott's nursery tree is my favorite thing to decorate at Christmastime...

"Mommy, I think this one looks pretty here."

"Where should we put this snowman?"  Decisions, decisions...

After we hung the last few ornaments on her tree, she walked over to her bunny, reached her arms out and said, "Hold you?"  I gave her the bunny and she said, "Couch."  She carried her bunny to the couch and sat there watching a movie for the longest time.  I guess she was as tired as I was.  :)

Let me just say, she is tickled PINK about her tree!  :)

She even tried to sing "Oh Christmas Tree" with me.
"Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree,
How lovely are your branches..."

Love that sweet hand.  Sometimes it's the little things that make your heart skip a beat.

Hope your Christmas is off to a sweet start...
